Hired Librarians: I Could Picture our Clients Relating to Her Very Well. In this feature, Hired Librarians, I interview a recent successful job hunter and the person that hired her. This week I’m interviewing Mira Geffner, Program Assistant, and a tale of two paper the person that hired here, Erika Bell, Manager of Medical Information Services. They work at Breast Cancer Connections, providing medical information services in the San Francisco Bay Area. Here is how the library is staffed: We are each here half-time, that’s it for the paid library staff. In Workplace? Other BCC staff and volunteers also help clients in the library when we are not available, and volunteers help with clerical work and paper special projects. The Successful Candidate: Mira Geffner.
Where are you in essay for books your career? When did you graduate, and paper how many years of experience do you have? I am a career changer and a current MLIS student at sythesis pubis, San Jose State University. I expect to a tale cities paper, graduate in December 2014. Why did this job pique your interest? It sounded perfect! My professional background is in patient education and advocacy. Essay Parliamentary Democracy? When I started library school, I was really hoping that I’d be able to continue working directly with the public, but as a librarian instead of an educator or advocate. The BCC Program Assistant job description said they wanted someone who could do research for BCC clients, contribute to the BCC blog, maintain the library collection of a tale cities research paper books/pamphlets/media, and attend weekly QA sessions with area physicians and patients. I had started a blog in my Medical Librarianship class, and I had experience coordinating QA conference calls with physicians and patients as part of sythesis pubis my previous job. Of course as an a tale paper LIS student, I do database searching every day, and had gained experience with patient-oriented and academic medical databases through my SLIS courses and democracy an internship at a tale cities research paper, a health library.
Other aspects of the job appealed to sythesis pubis, me too, especially the research, fact that I would be embedded in a thriving non-profit organization with deep roots in crime essays the community. To be honest, the job sounded almost too good to be true. How many pages was your resume? Cover letter? My resume was long, nearly 2 pages. I included current academic work and pre-SLIS professional experience. A Tale Of Two Cities Research? My cover letter was ? page. What research did you do before submitting your application? I learned about the job from a friend who had interviewed at BCC before I did, so she was able to tell me a lot about BCC’s “personality” in terms of her interview process and the nature of her interview there. Online Essay Jobs? After speaking with her, I read as much as I could of a tale paper BCC’s website. I wanted to familiarize myself with the organization’s programs and synopsis of case issue format services, and understand its mission and a tale of two cities research paper history.
I also read posts from the poverty causes crime, BCC blog, to get an idea of how I could contribute to it. Black slacks and a colorful top. Black flats. (I had heard from my friend that the place is pretty casual, so didn’t want to overdo it. I was aiming for dressed-for-work rather than dressed-up-for-interview.) Can you describe your process in preparing for the interview? I heard about the a tale of two cities paper, job at the end of the semester, so I was finishing up classes and an internship, and was getting ready to leave town for a week. In other words, I had less time to prepare for this interview than I would have liked. At least my resume was pretty close to being up to sythesis pubis, date, since I had applied for internships in other health libraries five months earlier. To prepare, I updated my resume with a few relevant projects I had done in the past few months, updated my cover letter to draw out the connections between my resume and a tale paper the job description, and rehearsed some standard interview questions. Jill Klees, the jobs, SLIS liaison in a tale of two cities research the SJSU Career Center, was very helpful, both with shortening my resume and practicing interview skills.
I also reviewed the databases from my medical librarianship class, and materials from that class’s consumer health unit. I went back to the health/medical research units from my Introduction to Reference class, to make sure I wasn’t forgetting about any important sources there, and reviewed my health literacy outreach blog and other health-related projects I had done at SLIS to refresh my memory about things that might be relevant to essay democracy india, the BCC job. And then I spent some time thinking about how my earlier work with rare disease patients might translate to a tale, work with breast cancer patients. Finally, I did what I could to learn about breast cancer. At a friend’s suggestion, I reviewed all the terms relating to breast cancer in the National Cancer Institute’s online dictionary of cancer terms. I also read NCI’s basic introduction to breast cancer, because knowledge of breast cancer or other cancers was listed as a job qualification. What questions did you ask? I was interviewed by a three-person panel, and I asked them to essay editor jobs, each tell me what they love about working here.
I don’t remember all of their answers, but I remember them all smiling at cities research paper, each other when I asked and online essay Erika kind of laughing and saying it was really hard to know where to start because the list of things she loves about the place is so long. Erika’s boss was on the panel as well, and she told me she had been with BCC for more than 10 years, and that she really enjoys having a chance to work with and mentor people who are newer to the organization. Of Two Research? They all said they love the women they work with. I can’t remember exactly how I asked, but I’m pretty sure I asked Erika something about how much patient education she does vs. Essay Parliamentary Democracy India? research/providing information. I didn’t have a “right” answer in mind, I just wanted to cities research paper, understand something about where BCC’s Medical Information Services model fits in the world of consumer health librarianship.
And I asked something about the typical resources she consults to handle client requests, because I wanted to understand if I would need to be able to search PubMed like a wizard or if she uses lay sources more of the time. Why do you think you were hired? What set you apart from other candidates? Well, that’s a hard one to answer. How do we ever know how the essay democracy, world sees us? I felt like the job – which combines library skills with an of two research ability to good for books, assimilate and communicate medical information and interact with clients in a non-threatening way – was a great match for my past experience and my coursework at SJSU. And although I did not have the cities, knowledge of breast cancer or another type of cancer the job description called for, my comprehensive knowledge of another disease from my previous job showed that I could learn about breast cancer and would be motivated to do so.
I also think my experience providing support and information services to good essay questions, patients at another non-profit showed that I was a good match for the position. Even though I would need to start with the basics in learning about breast cancer, I tried to demonstrate that my perspective working in other non-profits and with other types of patients would make it possible for me to begin contributing quickly at BCC. Throughout the interview, I tried to convey that the of two research, job they were offering was exactly the job I wanted. When they asked where I see myself in five years, I said “with a Master’s degree in Library Information Sciences, working in a consumer health library.” That was actually one of the questions I hadn’t prepared for, but I think it was the sythesis pubis, answer I gave most quickly and paper directly. Essay Questions For Books? A job like this one in a place like BCC is what I’ve wanted since before I started the program at SLIS. A Tale Cities Research Paper? So the job just felt to me like a great fit, and I tried to convey that to the panel. Is there anything else you want to tell my readers about why you were chosen? Or any general job hunting advice you want to dispense? These are things your readers probably know, but I’m going to write them anyway: there is soooo much serendipity in the process, so don’t take things that happen in the job search too personally. Do reflect on how you conduct yourself in interviews, and in essay format think about things you would like to do differently, but try not to turn things that happen in the job hunt into a judgment of you as a person. I also can’t say enough about the importance of building and tending your networks.
I attend local networking/social events when I can and go to conferences. I participate in LIS student and professional groups on cities paper, Facebook and on LinkedIn, and read the CALIX and CAPHIS mailing lists (and participate very occasionally in both). Essays? I also keep in touch with internship supervisors, some faculty, and students I’ve worked with on class projects or otherwise gotten to of two cities, know. I would never have known about this job but for causes essays a phone call from a SLIS friend, and I believe her recommendation influenced BCC’s decision to interview me. What stood out in this applicant’s cover letter? Mira’s cover letter was very well written and cities contained specific, concrete examples that demonstrated her professional experience and qualifications. Her passion for working as a consumer health librarian was evident in the letter. Mira was honest about her lack of experience in the cancer field, but displayed confidence in her ability to acquire those skills on in workplace essay, the job.
Did she meet all of the required qualifications listed in the job ad? How many of the desired qualifications did she meet? Mira met all but one of the qualifications listed in the job ad. Cities? The job ad listed “knowledge of essay editor breast cancer or other cancers” as a qualification, and Mira did not have this specific experience, but she did have professional experience working in other health-related fields. In comparison to the rest of the pool, did the cities research paper, applicant have more, less, or about the poverty, same years of experience? What about for the other people you interviewed? Mira had more experience than many of the applicants in the pool and less experience than some others. A few applicants were actually overqualified, and for that reason the of two paper, job didn’t seem like a good fit for them.
What was the interview process like? I first screened resumes and cover letters and selected a dozen or so that I felt were well qualified. These applicants were phone screened by good questions our human resources volunteer. Based on feedback from the phone screen, we then invited a subset of the phone-screened applicants to come in to the center for an in-person interview. We conducted the interview as a team of three which included myself (BCC’s Manger of Medical Information Services), BCC’s Director of paper Programs and discrimination in workplace Services and a tale of two paper BCC’s Program Associate. Candidates were asked a series of pre-scripted questions and then given an sythesis pubis opportunity to ask questions of us. A tour was conducted upon the candidate’s request. After our first of round of in-person interviews, we selected a candidate, who declined the position due to another job offer. That applicant happened to be a colleague of Mira’s and recommended her for the position. Because Mira was referred by this person, we did not conduct the initial phone screen in her case, and instead brought her in immediately for an in-person interview.
What stood out in Mira’s interview? BCC’s mission is to provide services to women touched by breast and of two research ovarian cancer in an atmosphere of warmth and compassion. Essays? Mira’s warm and compassionate demeanor stood out in the interview. Of Two Research? She was down-to-earth and easy to talk to, and I could picture our clients relating to discrimination in workplace, her very well. I could tell during the cities research, interview that her personality would be a good fit for the organization, and that we would work well together to accomplish the department’s goals. I was also impressed by the research Mira had done prior to essay democracy, the interview. She was familiar with BCC’s history, our programs and services, and our mission, and she expressed a clear and genuine interest in a tale cities research contributing to that mission. After the interview Mira followed-up with a hand-written thank you note, which was a nice touch. Were there any flags or questions you had about this person’s abilities, and how did they resolve them? Perhaps the only concern I had about Mira was the fact that she is sythesis pubis, currently a graduate student, and I wondered if she would be able to successfully juggle school and work. To address this concern, Mira and I discussed a potential work schedule and I gave her the option to reduce her hours when school is in of two cities paper session, if necessary.
We agreed upon essay questions for books, a minimum number of hours that would be essential for her to of two cities paper, work to get the job done. Is there anything else you want to tell my readers about why this candidate was chosen? Or any general job hunting advice you want to dispense? Mira’s skill set and experience got her the interview, but it was really her personality that won her the job. We interviewed several other candidates with similar or more experience, who definitely could have done the job, but we did not select them because they didn’t connect with us in a way that Mira did. We really got the sense during Mira’s interview that she would be able to set clients at causes essays, ease, listen to their needs and of two cities paper concerns, and then be able to sythesis pubis, find them relevant information to paper, address those needs. I had been wanting to a tale of two paper, try my hand at poverty causes crime, app development, so I decided to write an cities research paper app that would deliver job ads. Then I started trying to narrow down the good questions, kinds of a tale of two cities job ads it would include.
I kept drifting toward the library jobs (I have an MLIS, but have worked in essay jobs IT for a long time), and more specifically, toward academic library jobs, because I love working in higher ed. The problem was that it was taking me so long to develop the app that a lot of great jobs were going by. Finally, in May of 2013, I decided to a tale of two research, ditch my app aspirations and find a responsive WordPress theme, so that at least I would have a mobile-friendly site where I could post the jobs I was seeing. Essay Editor Jobs? I found ThemeHorse’s Clean Retina, which looks lovely on every device I’ve tried it on, with minimal CSS tweaking. Fortunately, since I had already designed and built the database for the app, I knew where I wanted to of two research paper, go with categories and tags, and what information I wanted to provide with each listing. Discrimination Essay? I decided to include college-town profiles too, because I believe that place is a tale of two cities, such an in workplace essay important consideration when you’re looking for jobs. I do. [Molly Ives Brower] I do all the WordPress wrangling, the job-ad curation, and the tweeting. A Tale Of Two Cities Research Paper? I do use the editorial “we” from time to time, just because I like that particular affectation. #128578; Are you a “career expert”?
What are your qualifications? I’m not a career expert–although I’ve had 17 jobs since 1988, so I do have a lot of experience applying for in workplace essay jobs and interviewing. These days I’m an IT consultant, but one of my clients is a library, and I keep up with some of a tale of two cities research paper my favorite library issues, thanks to Twitter and my friends in the library world (including my husband, who is the director of an academic library). My primary qualification to do this is that I am a job-ad junkie. When I started library school I was a clerk/typist in the serials department of of case format a university library, and one of my jobs was to open the mail. A Tale Cities Research Paper? Every time we got a new issue of good essay questions Library Journal or other publications that advertised library jobs (I remember a weekly newsletter that was almost nothing but job ads), I would read them to try to decide what kind of librarian I wanted to be and where I wanted to live when I finished my degree. I’ve never really gotten out of the habit of looking at job ads.
It’s become a hobby. Another hobby of mine is a tale paper, visiting college towns, so I’ve actually been to a lot of the places I link to. I’ve been known to synopsis of case, drive two hours out of my way to research paper, visit, say, Carbondale, Illinois or Oneonta, New York (Oneonta is one of my favorite college towns, actually). But I haven’t traveled the entire country, of course, so there are a lot I’ve never even been close to. Who is your target audience? Academic librarians and people who want to be academic librarians. What’s the essay editor, best way to use your site? Should users consult it daily? Or as needed? Should they already know what they need help with, or can they just noodle around?
They can certainly consult it daily if they want to, or they can just follow the RSS feeds. I don’t have ads, so it doesn’t matter to me if people read the of two, feeds (there’s a general feed and sythesis pubis one for each state) and never even visit the site. For those who know what they’re looking for, I’ve tried to a tale cities research, make it easy to parliamentary democracy india, browse by deadline, state, and job categories, and I tag every job with its institution and a tale of two cities location, as well as other tags that seem to fit. I have a category for entry-level jobs, because I know there are always recent graduates out there who are looking for online jobs those. Of Two Cities? There’s a search function, and a calendar that shows every day’s posts. Should readers also look for you on social media? Or is your content available in other formats? Do you charge for anything on of two cities, your site? Can you share any stories about job hunters that found positions after using your site? Not yet, but I hope I will someday! Anything else you’d like to share with my readers about your site in sythesis pubis particular, or about library hiring/job hunting in cities research general? I don’t include entire job listings, like some of the bigger job sites do. I try to give enough information about the job that someone who is interested can click through to for books, see the official job posting on the institution’s website, and I try to of two paper, make it easy to go directly to job listing, or at poverty essays, least get close. If I see a listing for a job on another site, but can’t find the job listed on the institution’s site, I don’t list it. Paper? When I run across those, I try to check back in a day or two, just in case it shows up (and it usually does). That means that sometimes I list jobs a couple of days after they show up elsewhere.
The site is still evolving; I’m still refining the categories and essay tags, as well as my criteria for including jobs (for example, I don’t include part-time jobs now, but might decide to change that later). I’d love to get some job submissions from libraries, and some college-town profiles from people who are living and working in academic libraries. But mainly, I just hope that people will be able to use my site to help them find the kind of jobs I see posted every day that remind me why I have always loved working in higher ed, and in libraries. A Tale Cities.
A Tale Of Two Cities Research Paper. A Tale Of Two Research Paper. Issue In Essay Format.
A Tale Paper. A Tale Of Two Paper. Diferencia entre hombre y animales . Sythesis Pubis. In Workplace Essay. Of Two Research Paper.
Of Case. A Tale Research. Of Two Cities Research Paper. Synopsis Of Case Issue In Essay.
A Tale Of Two. Of Two.
A Tale Of Two Cities Research. A estos motivos les llamaremos rdenes. Online Essay. A Tale Cities.
A Tale Of Two Cities Research. Of Case Issue. A Tale Research. Poverty Crime. 3. A Tale Of Two Cities Research Paper. Essay. 4. A Tale Research Paper.
Of Two. Good Essay Questions. A Tale Of Two Research Paper. Lo ms opuesto a dejarse llevar. Online Essay.
A Tale Cities Paper. Synopsis Of Case Issue In Essay Format. Discrimination In Workplace.
A Tale Of Two. Of Two Research. Good For Books. A Tale Of Two Paper.
Of Two Research.
Of Two Research. A Tale Of Two Research. Synopsis Of Case Issue. In Workplace Essay.
A Tale Cities. In Essay Format. Of Two Cities.
A Tale Cities Research. A Tale Of Two Cities Research Paper. A Tale Of Two.
A Tale Of Two Research Paper. Nadie puede ser libre por nosotros. Sythesis Pubis. A Tale Paper. A Tale. Questions For Books. 2. A Tale Of Two Cities Research. 3. A Tale Cities Research. A Tale Research Paper.
Good Questions For Books. Good Essay Questions. Of Two Paper. El remordimiento aparece cuando uno es conciente. Discrimination In Workplace. A Tale Cities Paper.
Good Essay.
Of Two Cities. A Tale Paper.
Sythesis Pubis.

chapter book report Chapter 5 and a tale research, 6. Ruslan is running from the online essay jobs black water chasing him down the streets. Everywhere he goes the a tale research water surges in and blocks his path. He ran into good for books a house and as the owners ran down to see what was going on, Ruslan runs up the of two cities research paper stairs and yells for them to follow. The water roared into the shop and synopsis, flooded it. Ruslan made it to the roof. A Tale Paper! He watched below as dead bodies floated by. Sarah had made it into the jungle. She didn’t know where any of her family was.
Suddenly, she saw her mom and went over to her. She looked angry and Sarah was scared, until she saw that her mother was dead. Discrimination Essay! She thought it was only right to bury her. After her mother was buried Sarah heard something. Out jumped Surf Cat. She saw Peter on the beach and ran to a tale cities research, him, hugging and kissing him. Peter didn’t believe his mom was dead so Sarah showed her to him. He became very upset. They went looking for their dad but when he was nowhere in sight, they set off for something to drink. What Ruslan did was very smart and brave.
He went with his instinct and ran for his life. It was unfortunate that others had died and Ruslan had to witness it. Sarah’s encounter with her mother was very sad. It would have been very hard for me to bury her and say goodbye. Especially if my sibling didn’t believe me and I had to show the poor kid his mother dead. Chapter 7 and online essay editor, 8. Ruslan wanders the streets, seeing all the dead bodies. He realizes his father is cities paper probably still alive and he needs to sythesis pubis, find him more than anything. He headed to oil tanker where his dad worked and sees all the a tale paper men, even in life jackets, dead. Poverty Causes! He sees a man in mechanic overalls and is frightened.
Sarah and Peter go to their boat looking for their dad. He’s not inside but they grab some food and clean clothes. Later, they found a cave and decided to of two cities research, spend the night there. During the night Sarah heard her dad’s voice telling her to democracy india, take the paper path and get Peter a doctor. She woke him and they set off on sythesis pubis the path through the jungle. Ruslan’s situation is very upsetting. He’s not sure if his father his dead or alive and at this point, he’s probably fearing the worst. Of Two Research! I would be very scared if I were both of these kids especially since Sarah’s going through the jungle and needs to protect her brother. Chapter 9 and 10. Ruslan runs down to wear all the men were and everyone was dead. He asked about his father and a man told him everyone was dead.
Ruslan felt as if his heart was breaking in half. Suddenly he remembered the in essay format note in his pocket his dad had left him that morning. He opened it and saw that his father had gone to another city to a tale research, visit relatives. Ruslan was so happy, he cried. He knew there was hope that his father was alive. He found a bike on sythesis pubis the side of the road and decided to hop on it and drive to the village that would take him to Ie Mameh, where his dad was. As he drove, he came across some officers who thought he was a rebel. A Tale Cities! They gave him a hard time and wouldn’t let him pass. Finally, he broke free and drove off with the officers chasing after him. Sarah and Peter are hiking in search of a hospital for Peter.
They don’t have much luck and don’t get very far. Poverty Essays! They encounter boars and of two research paper, snakes along the way. Finally they get to the village they were looking for and are stunned to see that it’s completely gone. They’re troubles begin once more. Ruslan is very lucky that his father wasn’t in the village when the tsunami hit. I know I would be very thankful. I feel like things just keep going wrong with both of them. Ruslan encounters the questions officers and Sarah and Peter hit a dead end trying to find a hospital. Chapter 11 and of two cities research, 12. Ruslan makes it through the essay jungle and research paper, reaches the village. Sythesis Pubis! He gets stopped by rebels who destroyed the a tale cities paper entire village.
He just wanted to of case in essay, get through but since the officers at of two cities paper, his last stop had his ID, the rebels held a gun to his chest and wouldn’t let him pass. Sarah and Peter decide to camp out. The next morning they see a boat leaving the coast, so they try to essay, make a fire to signal for it to stop. It was no use. The only food sources they have are coconuts so they take as many as they could carry. On the shore they see a small wooden sail boat so they decide to sail down the water because it’s much quicker. They both fall asleep on the boat and when they wake, there’s a water buffalo trying to get on research paper the boat.
I think Sarah’s very smart for all the sythesis pubis things she came up with. Even though the boat didn’t see her fire, it was still a good idea. Research Paper! And it was a good thing she found the boat or else they’re walk would’ve been brutal and sythesis pubis, long. I think Sarah knows what she’s doing and when the stakes are high, she does everything she can to keep her and a tale of two research paper, her brother safe. Chapter 13 and 14. In chapter 13, the rebels decide not to poverty causes, kill Ruslan, but to take him with them instead. They make him carry their things and steal jewelry off of the dead corpses. Ruslan thinks it’s barbaric and refuses to do so. They come across a river below them so they must cross over cities a broken bridge.
Ruslan pretends to accidentally slip and editor jobs, fall off the bridge so that he can escape from the rebels. He swims to shore. At this point, the water buffalo is still on their boat but Sarah and Peter finally kick it off. Sarah realizes they’re not in a body of water, but that it is of two cities paper a flooded village. Sythesis Pubis! A woman spots them and climbs on a tale the boat. She doesn’t speak any English. Sarah spots a man on sythesis pubis a paddle boat and asks him where she can find a doctor. He tells her she can find a military doctor in Calang.
The wind suddenly knocked over the boat but luckily Ruslan was there and helped everyone out. When the woman got on the boat, she immediately helped Peter. I think that was a sweet thing to a tale research, do and it shows her courtesy and compassion. Chapter 15 and 16. After Ruslan saves Sarah, Peter and the older woman, he introduces himself but recognizes Sarah and Peter from the cafe.
They don’t recognize him, though. They realize they’re all headed in the same direction and it’s a good idea to go together to help each other out. As they go on their journey more survivors join them including two young male twins. They’re group has expanded quite a bit and as they walk, Ruslan and Sarah begin to online essay jobs, talk and Sarah explains to Ruslan that the massive wave was a tsunami. Suddenly, an a tale research paper aircraft flies above and essay editor jobs, throws down a trail mix bar to a tale of two cities, Sarah. She decides to split it between Peter and another small girl in their group. I think Sarah is beginning to editor, be more mature and selfless. She only cares about Peter and the others and their safety. Also along their journey, most of the men take turns carrying Peter because he’s the most sick and injured one of all. I think the way these people who have never met before, come together and support each other is something special. Chapter 17 and 18.
As they keep traveling together, Ruslan plans to of two, leave the group and search for his father. He thinks that because there are others helping Sarah and Peter, he won’t be missed and they’ll be fine. He tells Sarah of his plans but she gets upset. She thinks he’s being selfish and just doesn’t want to help them. She tries to sythesis pubis, reassure him that his father is alright, but he’s not convinced.
Suddenly, a helicopter flies over them and research, tells Sarah and Peter to get on. They said they were from the UN but Ruslan had a feeling they were lying so Sarah took his advice and wouldn’t get on. Ruslan realized he was needed more than he thought and decided to continue with the rest of the essay parliamentary democracy india group. Finally they reach Calang where they see a truck dumping hundreds of a tale cities dead bodies into a pit. Editor! It’s hard for them to bear. Sarah and research paper, Ruslan take Peter to the medical tent where he is discrimination put onto a bed but not given any treatment because the doctor isn’t there yet.
Sarah starts to a tale cities research paper, get angry. Then a man walks in and tells Sarah and Ruslan to follow him. I think it was somewhat selfish of Sarah to discrimination in workplace essay, be mad at a tale cities research paper, Ruslan for wanting to synopsis of case, find his father. Everyone has their own priorities and his dad is his biggest. He’s helped them this far, I think he had the right to want to leave and of two research, find his dad. Although, when Ruslan decides to poverty crime, stay I think it’s very kind of him that he cares about Sarah and Peter enough to keep going and help them find a doctor.
This really showed me the type of person Ruslan was. Chapter 19 and 20. Ruslan translated what the officer was saying to Sarah but he lied to her and said he’d try his best to a tale cities, find Sarah’s father. The officer knew what he had done and said it would be harder than he thought. Ruslan didn’t want to crush Sarah’s hopes. The officer also told Ruslan that he knew his father.
He said he’d been there earlier and that when Ruslan worked, he should be sure to essay editor, check all of the cars. Ruslan didn’t know what he meant but he did as he was told. While working he spotted his dad’s car turned over. He didn’t know what to a tale cities, think. Sarah waited with Peter for the doctor.
She was given half of an aspirin by the nurse and made him take it, even though she was hesitant. The doctor finally came and checked on Peter. Essay! He didn’t have any equipment and used cardboard as a stethoscope instead. Sarah asked if he had any medicine to a tale paper, treat Peter but the doctor said there was no medicine there and all they could do was pray. Sarah was speechless but then overheard a girl who had been crying with her mother was now mute. The girl lay still and Sarah couldn’t move. I think Ruslan lost hope in his father’s survival because he saw his car.
It’s terrible how he keeps thinking he’s getting closer to finding him and then thinks he’s dead. The situation keeps getting worse and I don’t know how I would be able to keep going. I think it’s the small chance he’ll see his dad one last time, dead or alive is what keeps Ruslan from giving up. Sarah has the right to discrimination in workplace, be upset and astonished with the cities research paper doctor because she’s been on such a long journey to find someone to help Peter and poverty essays, they don’t even have any medicine to treat him. Chapter 21 and 22. Ruslan could see that no one was in the car and was afraid his dead was dead and his body had been dumped into the pit with the others. Cities Research! He jumped into the back of the truck with the other bodies and searched for good essay questions for books his dad’s. He noticed the truck driver take one of the bodies’ wedding ring off of her finger. Ruslan was furious so he jumped out of the a tale cities research paper truck and choked the guy until he was unconscious. Then he walked along the pit in search of his dad. He was nowhere to essay, be found.
This made Ruslan somewhat happy, in hopes he was still alive. He turned around and saw two men he recognized. It was the rebels. A Tale Of Two Cities Paper! Sarah was upset with the doctor and was losing hope. To cheer Peter up, however she joked around with him and essay editor jobs, they reminisced on old times. Then, Sarah went to pray but she didn’t know if she could really believe that God was listening. She did it anyway to paper, make herself feel better. The way Ruslan responded to the man taking off the woman’s wedding ring was very respectful to essay democracy india, the woman. He wouldn’t let something so barbaric happen to a woman who’s just died and he wanted to make sure her family knew what happened to her.
Ruslan felt bad about being relieved that none of the dead bodies were his father’s. He knew there was no way this situation could be happy. A Tale Of Two Paper! This showed me that even though he’s most concerned with his father’s safety, he still feels sad when looking at all the strangers that lost their lives. Chapter 23 and 24. One of the men told Ruslan that he was his uncle. Ruslan didn’t understand why he hadn’t told him before and refused to discrimination essay, think of of two cities him that way. Parliamentary Democracy India! His uncle told Ruslan that he should join them, as their family. They were sure his father was dead, but Ruslan wanted to of two cities, know the truth. Ruslan met up with Sarah and she told him about the doctor.
Ruslan informed her about the essay editor jobs hospital in Meulaboh and she decided that would be her best bet to get real help for Peter. Cities Paper! Ruslan was sketching a picture of his dad when suddenly Sarah recognized him. Crime! She remembered the man on of two cities the paddle boat she saw right before Ruslan saved her. Ruslan was so excited to hear that his father was alive and was headed towards Meulaboh, too. He kissed Sarah on both cheeks and told her they needed to essay parliamentary democracy india, leave and he had family to of two cities research paper, help them. They figured out a plan and later Sarah and Peter snuck out good for books, of the camp and a tale cities research paper, waited for good questions Ruslan. Ruslan and Sarah are even more hopeful now than they ever were. Ruslan is sure his dad is a tale research alive still, and Sarah thinks Peter will finally be saved. I like the way the two of them have formed a great friendship on online editor jobs their journey. They were two strangers at first, but came to be good friends who would do anything to help each other.
Chapter 25 and 26. Ruslan was questioned by a couple soldiers about his uncle. A Tale Of Two Research! Ruslan wouldn’t tell them anything so he was hit hard a few times. He was then tied up to essay, a tree, hoping Sarah and Peter would continue with their plan without him, knowing Peter was in a tale real danger. Suddenly the of case issue format soldier that tied him up came back and cut the ropes around his wrists.
He told Ruslan he agreed with him and told him to go quickly. Ruslan ran to the truck Sarah and Peter had previously been sleeping behind and put the key in the ignition. Then he saw some movement and assumed it was them. He called for them and they emerged from behind the trees and got in the truck. They started to drive away when they saw motorcycle headlights in their rearview mirrors. They drove until they went into a tale research paper a swamp and slowly drove through, having lost the soldiers chasing after them. Ruslan met up with his uncle and was told he would take them as far as he could. Sarah, Peter and Ruslan slept in the car until they got to the river they had to sythesis pubis, cross. Sarah was afraid, but Ruslan helped her through it and everyone crossed safely.
They got to a tale research paper, the village where there was a helicopter. Ruslan asked if they could take them to Meulaboh and were given a ride all the way there. They landed in military headquarters and essay editor jobs, it was swarming with people from all over.
